We all experience trauma in our lives. Trauma is essentially a complete experience of powerlessness. You felt powerless to react or act about what was happening.
What happened is that you often freeze. Your feelings, such as anger or sadness, become stuck in your body and your energy no longer flows properly.
Effects of trauma are:
- This costs you energy, because you suppress feelings, it makes you less happy and you may experience physical complaints, such as headaches or other complaints.
- Another effect is that you react strongly to triggers that affect you. For example, you become very frustrated or angry with a colleague or partner who does something that touches on this. For example, your boundaries are being crossed or you feel unseen.
Allowing trauma to remain in your system and body costs you the joy of life and can have consequences for your health. So it is essential that you move towards this and move into it.
What can I do for you?
In my coaching sessions I work as follows:
- By receiving you in your story as a knowing witness, you start to move in your trauma. The frozen piece is allowed to thaw and the energy starts to flow and is released.
- It is essential that your body also participates. Since traumas also have a physical component in addition to a mental process, I also use body-oriented and experience-oriented exercise(s) in my coaching sessions. This causes the energy to flow more freely.
By receiving you in your story you will move in your trauma and take back your power. By also feeling the experience in your body, the energy is also released there. This will give you more and more power.
By taking action you will ultimately convert the experience of powerlessness into strength. What happened has happened, but you can remove the burden by moving in your trauma. The feeling is there and is received by me as a coach and by yourself.
